Reveiw:
This is the musical I'm in right now, which is why I'm uploading it xD; I actually have a pretty big role. The death god, Papa Ge. SO NOW YOU ALL CAN HEAR WHAT I HAVE TO SING. And yes, it's a male role. That's how talented I am. *shot*
It's not one of my absolute favorites...but it's still pretty good. It's basically a retelling of "The Little Mermaid". The real version, where she dies in the end. The part I like best are the drums in the background of a lot of the songs. Especially the opening number.
I think you can basically get the story from listening to it...There's a lot of dialogue done to music, so it's basically all in there.
Oh, and we're not doing all the songs (Like, "The Sad Tale of the Beauxhommes", "Some Say", and "Some Girls" are totally omitted). And a lot of the songs are shortened and modified not to include any racial comments or specifications. We're doing the "Junior" version because we have middle schoolers. It leaves a few plotholes, though. Which is why I like the full version more.
Oh, and probably my favorite songs are my songs |D *shot* Though really, I do like them. As well as the opening number.
Yes, a small warning. There is some racial stuff in here and implied sex. But hay, Evita was pretty bad too. *shot*

Title: Evita

Artist: Movie Cast: Madonna, Antonio Banderas, Jonathan Pryce, Jimmmy Nail
Reveiw:
I really like this musical. It has some really great music, and it has some history in it. I've seen it a few times, both ametuer and professional productions. And it's really great. Of course, like all musicals, it's so much better if you can see it and all the acting, but I believe you can get the whole story out of the music (The whole thing's sung, I recall). And I really like the Latin and Spanish songs, and musical influences. I have both the Broadway Version and Movie Version, but I really do like the movie version more. Madonna and Antonio Banderas are amazing.
Notable Songs:
Don't Cry for Me Argentina: Of course, the most notible song, and it's a beautiful song. And it's actually really hard to get it right, and Madonna does a great job. In other productions, you'll see them want to put decoration on it, and it's supposed to be rather...plain. But it's such a good song.
Oh What a Circus: Antonio made such a good Che...I like the instruments in this song. It's so simple, but sounds so good. And this song is pretty much a satire...Especially if you know what Argentina's reaction was to Evita and stuff.
High Flying, Adored: This song is just really neat sounding. LIke I said, I love the instruments and vocals :3
Rainbow High: I really like the beat of this song. And I don't know why, but this song really sticks out in my mind whenever I think of the movie/musical...
Rating: 10/10
Evita
Next Musicals will go as such: Guys and Dolls, Once on this Island, Miss Saigon. The first two are considerably shorter than Evita or Miss Saigon, since they're not only vocal. I really love the music of Guys and Dolls, and I've been in that show. Once on this Island is surprisingly nice too, and if I calculated my weeks right, I should be putting that up the same week that I'm preforming that. And Miss Saigon is just beautiful D:
I think after that, I may upload The Phantom of the Opera and Les Miserables. But since I'm doing this once every other week, that's way in the future xD;

Sorry it's a day late! Anyways...This week is a theme week, and the theme happens to be "Theme Songs" (In case the title didn't tip you off). I wanted to try to stick with only movie theme songs, but I didn't have enough, so a couple of anime theme songs are thrown in there.
